THE Process

  1. Discovery Session

Helps us all understand your business IDEA, obtain clarity about your business IDEA, and determine how to make it both viable in your market space, and maximally-profitable. Before this meeting, you will have completed the Intake Form, and that will speed things up (saving you time and money)! During this meeting, we will determine if you have funding needs, and what those funding needs are. If funding is needed, together we will proceed to the Business Plan. A Business Plan is required for those seeking funding from lenders, and is likely needed for those already-operational businesses seeking to make significant changes in and to those businesses.

2. LAUNCH schedule

Yes, I will create a very detailed Launch Schedule to ensure that all tasks related to the launch of your business are listed, considered, and executed in the correct cadence so that nothing is missed or delayed. I treat each business as a unique project and create a project plan with the requisite deliverables for your business. Whether you need a Business Plan or not, the tasks required to enable the launch of your business will be documented throughly, and updated regularly, in your Launch Schedule.

3. weekly ALIGNMENT meetings!

We will meet weekly to ensure that all moving parts are on-track, that the Launch Schedule and its contained tasks are in alignment with the status of tasks and deliverables, and to make adjustments where and when necessary.

4. PITCH DECK, and CONNECTIONS TO funders

If you are seeking funding, I will connect you with investors, lenders, crowdfunders, and grant writers, and will create a Pitch Deck and corresponding Speaker Notes.

A Pitch Deck is a snapshot of your business operations, your financial projections, and your financial ask. It will also contain information about how you intend to use the investment dollars, and a projected repayment schedule. Investors entertain hundreds of requests each year, so I will work with you to create a visually-appealing Pitch Deck that hits all the points the investors want to see addressed, as well as a separate document containing your Speaker Notes for each slide in the presentation. We will rehearse your pitch as many times as you would like. If you want, I will also sit in on the pitch meetings.

5. COnNECtions to external resources

Which is the correct department at CRA to obtain a GST/HST/payroll number? I can help. Not sure how to obtain a WCB account? I can help. Do you need a business licence, and how do you obtain one? I can help there, too.
